Overload protection device for a rotary drive, especially a rotary drive for aircraft landing flaps

Rotary drives for aircraft landing flaps and leading-edge slats have a rotary drive (9, 7, 10, 8, 6) which can be operated by a central driveshaft (9) via an intermediate transmission (7) and has a step-down transmission arrangement (10) which converts the rotation of the central driveshaft (9) into...

Summary:Rotary drives for aircraft landing flaps and leading-edge slats have a rotary drive (9, 7, 10, 8, 6) which can be operated by a central driveshaft (9) via an intermediate transmission (7) and has a step-down transmission arrangement (10) which converts the rotation of the central driveshaft (9) into a pivoting movement of a lever (6) whose distal end (5) is coupled to one end of a push rod (3) which engages on the landing flap (2). The landing flap is guided in guide links so that, when the rotary drive is operated, the landing flap carries out a specific movement, driven by the push rod. A torque limiter which is assigned to the step-down transmission prevents the movement mechanism of the landing flap being damaged in the event of overload or in the event of a defect. By using a variable torque limiter, a limiting torque is set for any position of the lever and a maximum torque is assigned to the maximum possible shear force in the drive mechanism of the landing flap. This makes a weight-saving design possible.
