Summary:The tubular screen element in a paper pulp screen (Fig. 1) has screen apertures 52 and recesses 42, spaced from the apertures on the upstream side, which improve the separation process. Fig. 4 shows part of a screen with axial grooves 42 between rows of apertures 52 in Figs. 6, 7 the recesses are formed as dimples. Fig. 8 illustrates a screen with circumferential corrugations, the apertures being formed as slits restricted to the peaks on one side.
