Summary: | The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for non-destructive control of longitudinally displaceable, elongated bodies (14) for structural defects by means of magnetisation of the respective body (14). At least one magnetic field is aligned with the body (14). The structural defects in the body bring about changes in the pattern of the magnetic field. The changes are sensed by magnetic field probes (50, 52), arranged on or close to the surface of the body. The respective body (14) is moved through the magnetic field, which has an inclination of preferably 45 DEG from the direction of transport (26) of the body (14). The magnetic field probes (50, 52) are oriented transversely to the direction of the magnetic field. |
