Summary:The protection for the ends of pipes is in the form of a cap or stopper. It consists of a metal housing (8) and a sleeve-shaped inserting piece (2) of elastomeric material. Alternately a metal stopper is coated with an elastomer. The metal housing, or stopper, is tubular and has a folded or crimped edge (40) at the outer end. The edge is pref. circular, or oval, or rolled as a full, or partial, spiral.
