Summary: | The invention relates to an ultrasonic multiple probe which has a plurality of mutually electrostatically-separated piezoelectric individual elements between its rear damping body and its, for example, front protective and/or adaptive layer. It was the object of the invention to eliminate the incursions in the sound pressure or in the echo amplitude which occur in the known probes of this type in the regions between the piezoelectric individual elements to such an extent as to guarantee that defects can be detected as far as possible without gaps along the entire effective width of the probe, and to do so in conjunction with a multiple probe which can be produced with a low technical outlay and is easy to repair. For this purpose, in accordance with the invention the piezoelectric elements - are arranged both in two or more layers I, II, ...N which are acoustically connected to one another as well as to the attenuation member D and the protective and/or adaptive layer A - and are arranged next to one another, in each layer I, II, ...N in a sequence consisting of n (n = a whole number 2) elements SS-N, 1-n, - it being the case that each piezoelectric element S of a layer I, II, ...N is arranged in an overlapping fashion relative to at least one piezoelectric element S of the adjacent layer(s). |
