Summary: | A ring sprocket for driving an endless saw chain of a chainsaw consists of an essentially cylindrical body with grooves which are arranged in the peripheral direction in order to accommodate the driving-link teeth of the saw chain, while the bottom edges of the connecting links rest on the outer periphery of the ring sprocket. Attached in the grooves are island-like guide planes, the outer contour of which is configured in such a way that self-cleaning of the ring sprocket occurs in interaction with the peripheral contour of the driving-link tooth and its movement. In addition, the remaining groove space up to the bearing surfaces for the driving link are designed for self-cleaning. |
