Summary:The recording material comprises (B) an amorphous, electrically conductive, thermally alterable recording layer of (b1) 30 to 95% by weight, referred to (B), of a cationic polymer, able to be produced by electrolysis, and (b2) 50 to 70% by weight, referred to (B), of anionic dyes on one side or on both sides of an (A) electrically conductive, dimensionally stable base in the form (a1) of a tape, a square or rectangular sheet or a round disc of plastic, in which material (a2) the surface of the base (A) facing a recording layer (B) is textured and, in addition, (a3) is covered by a 20 to 100 nm thick metal layer, as well as a process for producing this recording material and a process for the optical laser writing and reading of data.
