Summary:The invention relates to a cardiac diagnostic unit comprising a housing (1), diagnostic electronics arranged in the housing (1) and a number of pick-up electrodes (2, 3), arranged on the housing (1) and electrically connected to the diagnostic electronics, in which arrangement, furthermore, a voltage supply, particularly a dry-cell battery or a rechargeable accumulator, a display unit (4) and an on/off switch (6) are also arranged in the housing (1) and are electrically connected to the diagnostic electronics and the diagnostic electronics furthermore comprise evaluating electronics and the pick-up electrodes (2, 3) can be pressed against the skin in a contact-making manner by placing the housing (1) on a body area and the heart rate, an electrocardiogram (EKG), the QRS crossings of an EKG, an electroenzephalogram (EEG) or the like can be picked up via the pick-up electrodes. This cardiac diagnostic unit is also suitable, according to the invention, in an optimum manner for unexpected emergencies due to the fact that the housing (1) is constructed to be elongated tubular, that the display unit (4) is constructed as a flat thin graphic display unit (4), is arranged at a longitudinal side of the housing (1), preferably opposite the pick-up electrodes (2, 3) and extends preferably over a significant proportion of the length of the housing (1), and that the diagnostic electronics comprise drive electronics for the graphic display unit (4). It is particularly suitable if the housing (1) [lacuna] shape and ... Original abstract incomplete.
