Summary:A drive unit for interchangeable rotary tools contains in a housing (1) a work spindle (2), a drawbar (6) longitudinally displaceable inside the work spindle (2), a clamping shaft (7) running at right angles to the work spindle (2), and a screw transmission with which the rotary drive of the clamping shaft (7) is converted into a longitudinal-displacement drive of the drawbar (6). The drawbar (6) is provided with a shaped part (11) which reaches with radial projections (12) through axial slots (13) in the work spindle (2). The projection ends (14) protruding radially beyond the work spindle (2) carry the thread turns (15) of the external thread of the screw transmission, the female thread of which is made in the bevel gear (9).
