Summary:The invention relates to a method for cleaning ventilation ducts, preferably in hospitals, old people's homes and the like. It is known that ventilation ducts, in particular in hospitals and old people's homes, become contaminated very quickly and heavily. It is not possible to remove bacilli and viruses which have settled in the capillaries of the linings of ventilation shafts using mechanical means so as to prevent a constant new contamination occurring. To overcome this difficulty, it is proposed according to the invention that germicidal, conditioned air is supplied to the ventilation shafts intended for decontamination in the form that at a desired location of the ventilation shafts to be cleaned there is situated a low-pressure generator which sucks air into the air outlet shafts, according to the invention sealed off hermetically from the adjoining rooms, killing the germs and bacilli and feeds them to a cleaning apparatus, such as a combustion device and/or chemisorption filter device.
