Summary:The flooding prevention system on domestic appliances uses a covering hose (8) which surrounds the inlet hose (7). In order to record the water level in the machine and/or in the covering hose (8), the latter is connected to the water container (2) via a connection hose (17). A valve connected upstream of the inlet hose (7) is constructed as a double valve (5, 6) which can be controlled on the one hand electrically and on the other hand pressure-dependently. If a given water level in the covering hose (8) or in the container (2) of the machine is exceeded, the rise in pressure occurring separates the inlet hose (7) from the water supply (4).
