Summary:For dewatering sludge, it is known to pelletise the sludge after mechanical pre-dewatering and to subject the pellets, after encasing with pulverulent materials, to press-dewatering. Subsequently to this, the press-dewatered sludge is burnt in a furnace. However, this is associated with high expenditure in terms of labour and costs. However, according to the invention, the dewatering of the sludge can be highly significantly improved by subjecting the pellets before and/or during the press-dewatering to heating.
