Summary:Method and device for controlling the idling speed in internal combustion engines, at least the set engine speed and actual engine speed being compared and the difference being fed as governor deviation to an idling charging governor, for example to a condition governor, which activates a control element for adjusting the intake air flow of the internal combustion engine and, where an automatic transmission is assigned to the internal combustion engine, the last control variable value resulting from stationary operation of the engine being stored as the lower limit of the control variable upon operation of the accelerator pedal and engagement of a drive position, and being held whilst the throttle is depressed and subsequently for a predetermined period and fed to the control element instead of, or in addition to, the governor output signal.
