Summary:The present invention relates to gasketing materials comprising a rubber binder, a pulverized rice hull filler and a polyester which preferably is crystallizable. The rice hull material acts as a reinforcing filler and, in combination with the rubber and polyester, provides gasketing materials which demonstrate the ability to conform to flange irregularities. As a result, the gaskets demonstrate remarkable sealing capabilities. When they comprise nitrile rubbers, they are also resistant to fuel absorption.
