Summary:The invention relates to friction clutches, especially those for motor vehicles, having a clutch carrier disc which can be attached to the crankshaft of the engine, an axially movable pressure plate, a diaphragm spring which is provided between the latter and the clutch carrier disc, is supported by radially outer regions against the clutch carrier disc and acts upon the pressure plate with regions situated radially further in, torque transmission means being provided between the said pressure plate and the clutch carrier disc. The friction clutch furthermore has a counter-pressure plate, which can be fixed axially and rotationally to the clutch carrier disc via spacing means, and a clutch disc to be disposed between the carrier disc and the counter-pressure plate. The object on which the present invention is based was to make possible satisfactory functioning and operation, equal to that of new clutches, upon repairing or reconditioning of such friction clutches and to do this in a particularly advantageous and inexpensive manner. According to the invention, this is achieved by virtue of the fact that, viewed in the axial direction of the clutch, the spacing means forms at least two mutually offset rows of contact surfaces for the counter-pressure plate.
