Summary:The invention relates to a method and a system for checking the air pressure of vehicle tyres, in particular of motor vehicles and motor cycles. In the event of the actual value of the air pressure in the tyre deviating from its set value by a predetermined value, a first induction coil which is constantly excited by a magnet excites a second induction coil whose induction field which is produced in this way is measured and is displayed visually and/or indicated acoustically in the spatial field of perception of the driver via measured value transducers. The system 6 consists of induction coils 7, 8 which are arranged at a distance from one another on each vehicle tyre 2 on the inner wall 11 of the tyre casing 10 and are connected by means of a line 12, 12a to a pressure switch 9. On the fixed vehicle part 13, a magnet 14 is associated congruently with the induction coil 7 and an adaptor 15 is also associated congruently as a measured value sensor with the other induction coil 8. The adaptor 15 is connected to a visual and/or acoustic display device 17 via a measured value transducer 16.
