Summary:The invention is based on an emergency brake device for motor cars, in which two elements braking independently of the existing wheel brake system are arranged under the motor car parallel to the wheels. By means of the invention an additional brake system for the car is created, which when driving on smooth, slippery surfaces is capable of braking the car. The system mainly comprises brake shoes with replaceable brake linings, which in an emergency are pneumatically pressed against the road surface so that a resisting force is generated between them and the road surface.
