Summary: | The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a tobacco rod, which consists of a core and an annular layer surrounding the latter. In a narrow tobacco channel (12), a narrow rod of core material is first poured onto an air-permeable conveyor belt (2) and levelled off. The tobacco channel (12) then widens to the conventional width, and now tobacco is poured on the right and left adjacent to the rod of core material, and then over the latter, over the entire width of the tobacco channel (12). The rod thus formed is levelled off and passed to a second conveyor belt (32). It is retained thereon by means of suction air, and another layer of tobacco is added to it and likewise levelled off. The tobacco rod (RS) which has now been produced is wrapped and further processed in a conventional manner. |
