Summary:The device for the keeping free and cleaning particularly of car window panes (12) consists of a channel (18) which is designed, at its edge directed towards the pane (12), with an outlet (22) in the form of a slit or in the form of small nozzles. By means of a pressure-medium source (26), compressed air is introduced into the channel (18) and forms an "air curtain (34)" in front of the pane (12). To clean the pane, washing medium can be fed into the channel (18) from a washing-medium container (36), is distributed on the pane (12) by way of the outlet (22) and is then blown away by the compressed air.
