Summary: | In the processing of cracked gases, which have been produced by gasification of solid or liquid fuels with steam and oxygen under pressure and at elevated temperature and which are processed to give H2-CO synthesis gases or H2-N2 synthesis gases, problems arise by blockage of apparatuses with metal sulphides. The metal sulphides are formed by the reaction of sulphur compounds with metal carbonyls. To prevent the deposition of metal sulphides, it is proposed according to the invention to prevent the formation of metal carbonyls in the critical range between 30 and 250 DEG C by keeping away metals which are capable of forming carbonyls in this temperature range. Metals present in the gas are separated off in cyclones or filters, before they pass through the temperature range, and metals present in the cooling water are separated off by filtration, extraction or flocculation. |
