Summary: | The dissipation of heat from exothermic polymerisation reactions of vinyl monomers in the heterogeneous phase is achieved in an elegant manner by adding to the reaction medium, in order to dissipate heat and to regulate the reaction temperature, liquids which do not dissolve the polymer under the reaction conditions and whose boiling points are less than or equal to the technically prespecified reaction temperatures under the polymerisation conditions used, and dissipating the heat liberated in the reaction system by evaporating this liquid. |
