Summary: | High-solids polychloroprene latices are obtained by polymerizing chloroprene, which may contain up to 50%, by weight, of a copolymerizable monomer, in aqueous alkaline emulsion containing emulsifiers and other conventional auxiliaries in the presence of from 0.1 to 2%, by weight, of a primary or secondary hydroxyalkylamine in which the OH-group is separated from the amino nitrogen atom by at least two carbon atoms, polymerization being carried out to a conversion of more than 80%. |
