Summary: | The system uses sending (13) and receiving (11) ring lines common to the entire network supplied from a cyclically repetitive time slot coding generator which are connected to service modules (30a, 30b,etc) of simplified uniform structure which in turn are connected to its respective communication terminals. Connection between any two terminals is established using a call signal from one station (i.e. module plus terminal) which is recognised by a central module comprising an address decoder (16) and coordinated time slot counter (12) with the aid of a comparator (20) and a control processor (24) supported by a tabulator memory (28) and control signal store (26). The tabulator keeps track of currently active time slot and address codes combinations. A similar coordinator storage unit (66) is provided also for the sending codes and sending time slot channels. Once the time slots and address codes are established for the two stations to be connected, these are continually being called up by the simplified station address codes which in the station modules require no more than a decoder element, and this goes on as long as the connection is maintained. The appropriate time slots are placed at the disposal of the sation pair via supply lines (21 and 25). |
