Summary:A rope to reinforce the bead of a tyre, made of polyurethane, is laid into the annular channel of the mould as a closed ring. To locate it securely in the centre of the bead channel, short pins, pref. made of spring steel wire, are inserted across the steel wire turns. This simplifies and speeds up the secure insertion of the bead rope by the friction of the suitably dimensioned pins. No bores are required in mould or core.
