Summary:The receptacle for spare lengths of light conductor, consists of protective envelopes (1,2) made of a pliable plastic foil, formed into pockets each having a central vertical slit (7,8) to facilitate the insertion of the conductors. The incoming conductors (9) of a light conducting cable (10) are spliced to the corresponding outgoing conductors (9), of an outgoing cable (10') and the joins (11,12) and spare lengths thus formed, are inserted individually as loops into the pocket shaped envelopes (1,2). The protective covers (1,2) must be large enough to ensure that the cable loop does not fall below the minimum allowable radius, and to protect the cables against tension loads, the loops of each bunch of cable (10,10') are fixed to the ends of the fold (5) of the main outer cover (6). The spare loops of cable are thus protected from damage, easily arranged and visible, using an inexpensive holder.
