Summary:An electrode arrangement for applying an electrostatic charge to a surface to be sensitized or for removing an electrostatic charge from a surface to be desensitized is provided and comprises a plurality or bank of electrodes which are individually, selectively energizable or de-energizable. More particularly, each electrode in the arrangement comprises an electrode point and contact means spaced from the electrode point with bridging means for selectively connecting and disconnecting the electrode point and contact means and with displaceable insulating means disposed in the path of travel of the bridging means for insulating the contact means from the electrode point while permitting movement of the bridging means to connect the contact means and electrode point.
