Summary:The multi-purpose car roof rack comprises a frame (10) carried on roof supports (2) and consisting of base members (11, 12) and horizontal side members (14, 15), which are connected (13) with the base. The longitudinal sides are provided with securing members (16) in the middle and/or at the front and/or at the rear end for fixing different components such as wheels, a rudder, cable hooks, keel board, sledge runners and the like. The rack may be further supplemented by a container with lid, which can be placed in the rack and locked there. The rack frame may afford opening at one side so that the container may be slid in like a drawer. The sides may be formed by upper and lower slats coupled by vertical strips.
