Summary: | The flask containing e.g. a powder and with its neck sealed by a plastics or aluminium diaphragm, uses a piercing device combined with a sprinkling cap to dispense the contents as required. This is an improvement on simply piercing the diaphragm, as the broken edges tend to prevent a smooth flow. The cap portion has a skirt (3) to fit over the mouth of the flask, and a disc portion (1) with sprinkler holes (2)through it. In the centre of the disc, is a piercing spike (6) with a series of radial ribs (9) around the pointed end (7), leaving a corresponding set of radial grooves (10) ensuring an even flow from inside the flask towards the sprinkler holes. |
