Summary:The perforated sheet is a combination of two perpendicularly aligned similarly undulating strips (A, B) in geometric form and may be used to protect earthworks, e.g. to cover formations or to provide a temporary traffic bearing surface over weak ground. The fabric is ideally of synthetic moulded material but may be of stamped metal. In plan the sheet subdivides into equal conjunctive square elements (A, B), a strip of sinusoidal form occupying each square. Viewed in elevation the edge of the strip describes 180 deg. of sinusoidal curve in traversing the square i.e. comprises a peak (5) with half troughs (4, 5) on each side. The strips (A, B) on adjacent squares are at right angles to one another, and the ends of the arch forms may be open except for a top segment (6). The sides of each arched formation may have openings (2) which extend the opening in the adjacent perpendicularly oriented element.
