Summary: | The method is for correcting the data read by a label reader which is used for label codes which cannot be read and for errors caused during reading to enable decoding of faulty bits as often as possible. The reliability and efficiency of the reader are thus improved. An 'n from m' label code is used to enable decoding of the information content of each bit read by the reader, which cannot be interrupted or which is invalid. The regularity of the code is combined with the information content of the other bits. A band code may be used with wide and narrow bands with constant separation. The separation is measured and invalid data evaluated from the deviation of the separation from the constant value. |
