Summary: | The process is for a multi-cylinder combustion engine (10), particularly car engine, comprising a fuel supply system (12, 15) and a reactor or catalyst in the exhaust system where secondary air is introduced in the exhaust gas. The fuel supply to at least one cylinder is interrupted below a pre-determined temp. and/or within a pre-determined length of time following engine start-up. The interruption may be overridden when the engine speed drops below a pre-determined value. The engine may have a fuel metering device (12) and for each cylinder a fuel injector (15) with supply line (19). At least one of the lines contains a solenoid valve (20) controlled by a temp. switch (22). |
