Summary: | Binder for bonding mineral fibres, e.g. glass fibres, in mineral fibre mat mfr., consists of an oil-in water type emulsion of water and isocyanate, prepd. in a pre-connected mixer. Isocyanate b. pt. should be sufficiently high to prevent evaporation at 100 degrees C. An opt. modified polyphenylpolymethylene polyisocyanate is pref. Water quantity of 50-1000 (100-400) wt. % w.r.t. isocyanate. Standard emulsifiers for prepg. oil-in-water emulsions are used. The emulsions contain no volatile components other than water and have low viscosity. |
