Summary:A transport and storage system for conveying workpieces between mobile stacking magazines and/or between processing machines is of the kind disclosed in prior Patent No. 1,505,789. Storage means 1 consisting of one or more platforms 1a, each having a plurality of recesses or cutouts around its periphery for receiving exchangeable inserts for supporting workpieces W of disc or shaft form, are disposed on a magazine rod 2a suspended from a trolley 2 running on a conveyor track. A lifting rod positioning device having a lifting table 6 and a turning motor 8 is provided to lift and turn the or each holding platforms into a desired predetermined position. The workpieces are prevented from turning on the magazine rod by catches (11) which are disengaged when the lifting and positioning device is raised to its operative position. A pressure cylinder operated locking device (9, 10) is provided for maintaining the lifting and positioning means in predetermined angular positions.
