Summary: | The sealing box is used as a connection or branching box for self-supporting aerial cable(s) in high voltage plant, and is made of a plastics material and has an earth through-connection and stress or pull relief. The cable box is sealed with a synthetic resin and is designed to withstand an impulse or surge voltage of 120kV; existing sealing boxes, suitably improved, can be used. Thus, the splice joint is embraced with a potential control strip and the cable lead-ins are each enclosed in a semiconducting shrinkage tube. The earth through-connection and pull relief comprise a sealing box retainer fitting with clamps. |
