Summary: | The tubular heating element is made by locating the resistance heating wire with two end bolts, forming connection terminals centrally inside a tube. Insulating granules are then packed inside the tube and the ends closed to keep the granules in the tube during subsequent processing. The ends of the tube are reduced in diameter to partially compact the granules. The diameter is reduced using a multi-jaw chuck. The compacting may start straight at the end, or at a certain distance from it. |
