Summary: | The liquid cooled internal combustion engine has circulation pump between cooling liquid inlet and outlet. This circulation pump is designed to ensure matching of the coolant flow rate to the cooling demand over a wide rotating speed and loading range of the engine. An additional circulation pump (20) for the liquid coolant can be connected between coolant outlet (6) and inlet (37) or at the coolant overflow between cooling shells (4, 5) of the combustion chambers. The additional circulation pump (20) is controlled in relation to he time variation of the heat release of the engine. This is ensured by temperature sensor (18). The additional circulation pump is connected when the cooling liquid temp. is below the average operating temp. |
