Summary: | Vibratory sieves which are constructed of wire mesh are liable to suffer wear near the points of attachment of the rods which transmit the vibratory motion from the driving mechanism. This wear can be reduced by fitting plastic pads (b) under the wires (a) near the points of attachment. The pads are cast from plastic in wooden moulds. The moulds have a non-stick surface such as PTFEE and fitted under the wire mesh so that the pads (b) can be cast in situ. from low melting point polyester or polyamide. By using these pads the operating life of a sieve can be increased from one month to eight months. |
