Summary: | The simple automatic coin checking mechanism detects moistened coins and moistened false coins and which together with other checking mechanisms which deal with weight pattern and size, provides a high security for vending machines and the like. The mechanism (1) consists basically of two plates (8, 10) between which a coin (4) falls down a channel (3) and proceeds either to an acceptance channel (7) or to an inhibiting element (13, 12, 14). The path of the coin is effected by whether or not it is moist or wet, and in the case of it being inhibited, it can only be released from this position by the operation of a coin return lever (9) which releases it to a reject channel (6). |
