Summary: | The film moves forward at constant velocity round drive rollers. At the picture gate a mechanism is provided which, during the projection (exposure) phase, moves the film back with an equal and opposite velocity, so holding it still in space; during the following dark phase this part of the film is moved on with increased speed. A suitable mechanism consists of a parallelogram in a vertical plane; it is pivoted at two of its adjacent corners and the film passes over rollers at the other two. When the parallelogram moves up, the film remains still at the picture gate; when down, the film is accelerated. The motion is controlled by a cam. |
