Metal working process for L sections - uses roller with peripheral groove and shaping bar

Summary:The L-section (10) passes between rollers (22, 24) rotating on parallel axes (X1, X2). One roller has a peripheral groove with a right-angled cross-section. A deforming bar (20) with a protruding ridge (26) passes between the rollers at the same time, forming a groove in the inner corner of the angle and pushing the outer surface of the angle into the corner of the groove. The bar is suitably shaped, and can run in a groove on the other roller. The process can consist of passing the L-section and the bar between a series of pairs of rollers, performing the deformation in stages.
