Summary: | The flange, for circular waveguides, is constructed from a collar (3) fitting over the circular waveguide (1). The collar is welded to the outside of the waveguide using an electron beam. The weld seal extends around the waveguide. The collar is stepped on its outside and a clamping ring (2) butts up against this step. The clamping ring has holes for bolts to connect with an identical ring around a second identically flanged waveguide. After the collar has been welded the end of the guide/collar is ground smooth. |
