Summary:Uronic acids are used as active ingredients in the prepn. of agents for controlling inflammations of mucous membranes. The agents can be used to treat inflammations of the nasal, gastric and othe rmucosa, as well as sec. disorders (e.g. allergic dermatosis and psoriasis), and to protect the vascular endothelia agents arteriosclerosis and endothelial lesion. The pref. uronic acids are D-glucuronic acid (I) and its gamma-lactone. They are pref. formulated as aq. solns. and administered as drops.
