Thermoplastic amorphous polyamide mould compsns - rendered non-combustible by incorporating red phosphorus
Flame-retarding thermoplastic moulding compositions contain amorphous polyamides derived from following classes of cpds. and 0.5 to 8, oref. 1-6% by wt. of red phosphorous: (alpha1) aromatic or cycloaliphatic diamines, (alpha2) alkylene diamines, (beta1) aromatic dicarboxylic acids, (beta2) aliphati...

Summary: | Flame-retarding thermoplastic moulding compositions contain amorphous polyamides derived from following classes of cpds. and 0.5 to 8, oref. 1-6% by wt. of red phosphorous: (alpha1) aromatic or cycloaliphatic diamines, (alpha2) alkylene diamines, (beta1) aromatic dicarboxylic acids, (beta2) aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and (gamma) omega-aminoalkane-carboxylic acids. Prods. are rendered non-combustible to ASTM test D 635-68 and are suitable for components in electrical apparatus, automatic machinery and computers. Red phosphorous can be added at any stage of mfr. Processing machinery not attacked by prods. up to 300 degrees C. Under vigorous combustion, phosphorous remaisn wholly in prods., neither volatilising nor evolving noxious gases. |
