Summary: | A former for an iron cored inductance which reduces the effect of vibrations and prevents the laminations from shifting out of position. This is done without additional components by having a fixed projection on each of two adjacent inner faces of the rectangular section bobbin. The projections are flexible and are used to clamp the sides of the iron core. They can be either parallel to the longitudinal axis or run along a diagonal of the face. When the laminations are fitted on to the former, the projections are bent sideways, making use of their flexibility, which is then used as a spring loading to hold them in position. |
