Summary:1382980 Bayer process for goethite-containing bauxites ALUTERV ALUMINIUMIPARI TERVEZO VALLALAT and FEMIPARI KUTATO INTEZET 27 June 1973 [14 July 1972] 30561/73 Heading C1A Sodium aluminate liquor is prepared by the Bayer process from goethite-containing bauxites where the digestion mixture contains 100-300 g./l. Na 2 O, 1-6% CaO and 0À5-12% NaCl (percentages based on the dry weight of the bauxite), and the digestion is carried out at 220-280‹ C., converting the goethite to hematite and dissolving Al 2 O 3 and V 2 O 5 bound to the goethite.
