Summary:Active ingredients for disinfection and anti-microbial finishing of textiles, active against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Staphylococcus aureus consist of cpds. - (where X and Y are halogen; Z is -O- or -S-; R1 and R2 are alkoxy, alkylthio or dialkylamino, esp. 1-2 C alkoxy or dimethylamino; R3 is halogen, -NO2 or haloalkyl, esp. CF3, and R4 is halogen or haloalkyl, esp. Cl or CF3, or H if R3 is -NO2). They are prepd. by reacting salicylic acid anilides of formula (II): (where M is H or a cation) with cpds. R1R2P(=Z)halogen (III), opt. in the presence of acid binders and opt. in an inert diluent, at 0-120, pref. 20-100 degrees C. using a 1:1-1.5 (II):(III) mol. ratio.
