Latent crimp fibril mfr. from foil - using high energy radiation on foil to reduce number of stages

The process to develop fibres with a latent crimp rig character, from fibrils split from polymeric foil, uses a high energy radiation applied to the material. The foil is treated during or after the radiation to give differnet degrees of crosslinking, build-up or coating across the cross-section of...

Summary:The process to develop fibres with a latent crimp rig character, from fibrils split from polymeric foil, uses a high energy radiation applied to the material. The foil is treated during or after the radiation to give differnet degrees of crosslinking, build-up or coating across the cross-section of the foil. The process reduces the number of stages in the mfr. of fibril material with latent crimping, for feltings and the like, so that mfr. is cheaper and simpler.
