Summary:Signals for a called station are transmitted in a given transmission band, using the called station address consisting of a series of binary signals with a higher pulse repetition frequency that that of the transmitted signal. This address is additively superposed on the addresses of other stations, and the called station recovers the information from the received signal by superposition of the synchronised address. A number of frequency bands is provided for the signal transmission, smaller than that of the stations; when receiving stations are idle, they automatically tune themselves to a frequency band with highest signal-to-noise ratio; when a station is called, it sends back its own address and a signal indicating the frequency band to which it is tuned; the transmitter uses this band for its reply.
