Summary:1363015 Coated surfaces BAYER AG 22 March 1972 [23 March 1971] 13414/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] A substrate may be primed with a coating containing a peroxide catalyst and then coated with an air-drying, light-curable polyester composition comprising (a) an unsaturated polyester containing at least 26 weight % of fumaric acid radicals, at least 10 weight % of radicals of a dialkyl ether of a polyhydric alcohol and at least 22 weight % of radicals of an alkanol containing saturated ether groups, (b) a copolymerisable monomer, and (c) photoinitiator. The Examples describe compositions containing styrene, various benzoin derivatives and unsaturated polyesters derived from fumaric acid, 1,2-propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether and trimethylolpropane dialkyl ether or glycerine dialkyl ether.
