Glyceride waxes are used to increase the solar protection factor (SPF) of cosmetic or dermatological compositions containing conventional ultraviolet (UV) filters. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Use of glyceride waxes to increase the UV-A protection factor of cosmetic or dermatological compositions containing conventional UV-A filters and/or broad-band filters that also provide protection against UV radiation with a wavelength above 335 nm. (2) Cosmetic or dermatological photoprotective compositions containing one or more glyceride waxes and at least one UV filter selected from triazine derivatives. (3) Cosmetic or dermatological photoprotective compositions containing one or more glyceride waxes and 2,2'-methylene-bis(6-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbuty l)-phenol. Verwendung von Glyceridwachsen zur Erhöhung des Lichtschutzfaktors kosmetischer oder dermatologischer Zubereitungen, welche mindestens eine übliche UV-Filtersubstanz enthalten, bzw. die Verwendung von Glyceridwachsen zur Erhöhung der UV-A-Schutzleistung kosmetischer oder dermatologischer Zubereitungen, enthaltend mindestens eine übliche UV-A-Filtersubstanz und/oder eine Breitbandfiltersubstanz, die auch gegen UV-Strahlung mit einer Wellenlänge, die größer als 335 nm ist, Schutz gewährt.
